Merry Christmas

I had to change all my plans for this week. We have DIBLES benchmark testing all week. So, instead, the students will spend time reading silently and for pleasure. We will also do activities relating to the holidays. We are practicing listening skills which is one area that the students are really low in. They don't listen and follow directions. I am hoping to bring those skills up to grade level by the end of the year.
I would like to wish you all a happy Holiday and a Merry Christmas. I can't wait to see them all again in January. I really like these kids. They are friendly, fun and we are developing a good community environment in our classroom.
We are having a party on Thursday. The kids voted on it. If they want to bring presents for friends to put under the tree they can. We are also having a funny gift exchange. They can create something at home and we will trade. The students voted to have the party so I am letting them. Sometimes the good of the many does out-weigh the good of the few.
